Cop Says Goodbye To K9 Partner Who Succumbed To Heat Exhaustion In Line of Duty.

While running after a domestic violent suspect, a 7-year-old Belgian Malinois K9 officer with the name King passed away. Senior Corporal Chris Duhon was one of the officers who had a powerful connection with King.

A K9 officer police dog assist in the execution of certain duties, including drug detection, cadaver location etc. A short time ago King was helping  Sr. Cpl. Duhon to truck down a violence suspect in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana.

Unfortunately he suffered from heat prostration and died from complications related with it. For the past four years K9 King has helped Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and residended with  Sr. Cpl. Duhon and his family. K9 King’s body was cremated and a memorial service with a 21-gun salute was held in his honor.

A dedication to K9 King was shared from Sr. Cpl. Duhon on his Facebook page accompanying a heartwrecking picture of K9 King covered in an american flag. He captioned: “Rest easy son, if there’s a heaven for heroes, you’re there because the most beautiful of Gods creation, Man’s ally , my ally . In 1,000 lifetimes I’ll never deserve you.”
