Loyal Service Dog Refuses To Leave Mom’s Hospital Bed After Saving Her Life

Shauna Darcy was struggling with anxiety, depression, and agoraphobia. She decided to adopt a dog hoping that it would help her with her issues. It seemed that Ruby would be more than Shauna expected. She wouldn’t leave her beloved owner’s side no matter what.

Darcy mentioned to Dodo, “While she was training to be a service dog, I noticed that she was starting to pick up changes in my heart rate and act funny – for example, patting me, trying to get my attention, further on top of me, etc. “

One day unexpectedly Ruby did everything possible to give Darcy hints that something wasn’t right with her health. Darcy then went to visit a doctor to see if Ruby’s insticts were right. It came out that Darcy had  rare heart disease called Ehlers Syndrome. -Vascular Danlos, which she was totally unaware of.

Ruby is Dracy’s guardian angel, she literaly saved her life. Ruby started to alert Darcy that something was wrong – even though Darcy had no idea what it could be because she was feeling good. However she trusted Ruby again and called an ambulance.

“It turns out my heart was going into atrial fibrillation,” Darcy said. ‘When the paramedics arrived, I was in pain and barely aware.”

When Darcy woke up at the hospital, she was feeling better but Ruby refused to leave her side. She stayed with her all day long on her bed. Nurses and people would come by to meet the loyal dog. Ruby was happy meeting all these new people. Whatever happened she always stayed faithful to Darcy and loves her unconditionally.

“I would not be alive without her,” Darcy said.
