Art is literally everywhere, and it’s probably the most unique form of self-expression. The most beautiful thing about art is that artists can find inspiration in everything. Artists make use of a wide variety of media such as plain white paper, canvas, plumes, rocks, and sand, etc to summon their inner creative abilities.
Andoni Bastarrika has been creating sand sculptures for a decade, using his hands and only some simple utensils such as feathers, toothbrushes or paintbrushes. It all started in the summer of 2010, when Bastarrika spent a day at the beach with his two daughters and came up with his very first sand sculpture: a little mermaid. The fun experience had helped Bastarrika discover the ability of his hands and, since then, he has spent the last ten years developing this wonderful gift in a self-taught way.
Here are some of his wonderful creations!
