Sulphur, Okla.– K9 Officer Boomer of Chickasaw National Recreation Area is retiring this month after 56 dog years of service!
Boomer was first recruited to work for the park in 2011 after completing narcotics detection training. He has been instrumental in helping detect illegal drugs in his home park, the local community, and on special assignment to other National Park Service units.
Boomer spent his closing weeks on the job overseeing his successor, K9 Officer Rex, as he discovered the ropes earlier than packing it in for retirement.after all these years working, we recognize Boomer have to be canine tired.
And given thateach canine has his day, Boomer is now spending plenty of time with his household whilst they wait on him hand and paw imparting limitless stomach rubs and scratches at the back of the ear. Now, that’s the lifestyles of a accurate dog.
