Abandoned puppy found in coma makes miraculous recovery thanks to loving support

On one of the coldest nights of winter, a couple spotted a mysterious box on the sideroad, when they decided to approach and see what was inside the box, they were shocked. A little pup was laying inside almost dead.

The couple checked on Francis and realized that he was barely breathing. Francis was delivered to the local no-kill animal shelter, Community Animal Rescue & Adoption, Inc. (CARA) which may be a no-kill animal rescue in Jackson, Mississippi. After the vet examined Francis , she confirmed that he was alive, however in a very deep coma.

When little Francis woke up, he went home with a number of the amazing people at CARA to urge 24-hour care. He needed a feeding tube for 2 months and he had difficulty standing up. But he received physiotherapy from an exquisite human and shortly he went from opening his eyes and raising his head to manage standing on his own.

His new owner Harriet Scott says, “We were lucky enough to be chosen to adopt this special dog that had become such a star . But to us, he’s just Francis, a sweet, loving dog with many energy that likes to run and play outside, nap on the sofa, and live the life we might hope all homeless animals could find. Our family wouldn’t be complete without him; he has such a lot love for people because it’s the love of individuals that saved him.”
