Sick Dog Dumped In Deserted Wetland Sees A Light Flashing On Him And Looks Up !
|
A dog named Powder was dumped in the middle of the Florida Everglades by his heartless owners, writes ilovemydogsomuch
The dog had no idea how to fend for himself in an abandoned swamp. He was hungry for days, and due to the difficult environment, he got several infections. The poor dog realized that no one would ever find him, so he found a lonely place and waited to die alone.
Then the visiting couple spotted a frightened and confused Powder and reached for him. They called police from Sheriff Broward’s office and reassured the weakened dog that he would get help soon. But when the cops arrived, they realized Powder was too sick to stand at all.
The cops comforted Powder, gave him food and water, and eventually gained his trust. Then they carried him to the car. They contacted Dezzy’s Second Chance Animal Rescue and handed over the dog to them for emergency aid. But Powder’s medical examination revealed that the dog wouldn’t have survived for long in the wetland.

The powder had severe mange that was bleeding and internal infections. He needed eye surgery, but the vet delayed the surgery until his infections receded. He has a long way to go to recover, but now he is at least in good hands.

Although Powder’s owner might never be found, it haunts us to think that the person intentionally left a dog to die in the wilderness.
We hope Powder recovers soon and finds a forever home with a responsible family that never abandons him. Stay strong, good boy!
