Lilac, the dog, was struggling to survive with a broken jaw and a broken leg when a jogger in Atlanta, Georgia, found her sheltering behind a car. Other dogs and unknown people had badly beaten the dog. When the Good Samaritan came, though, she crept out to welcome them. It’s almost as though “she knew she was about to be saved.”

Second Chance Rescue NYC Dogs in New York rushed her to the clinic, where she got immediate medical care. A thorough veterinary examination revealed that, in addition to a critically injured leg and a cracked jaw, Lilac had stomach damage caused by a gunshot lodged within her!

Despite her injuries, Lilac’s tail wagged whenever someone looked at her.

Lilac miraculously survived after a “hit-or-miss” few days.

“Where there is a will, there is a way.” Second Chance Rescue NYC Dogs commented, “There’s something unique about this little lambchop survivor, folks; she’s so lovely and gorgeous.”
“She is the sort of dog who makes you take a deep breath, sit back, and appreciate the relationship with mutual openness.” She has lived a life of grief and fear, yet she still desires to love, give, and connect.”

Vets were unable to save her limb, but they worked miracles to repair the rest of her body. Lilac may only have three legs for the time being, but she is on the mend.

Lilac is thriving right now as a consequence of all the love and care she is getting!

“She had to struggle for a long time to reach where she is now.”

“She may have lost her limb, but she has a family the size of the cosmos,” her rescuers remarked. “She is receiving affection from people in the hospital and all across the world!” The outpouring of love and support for Lilac has greatly impacted us.
