‘Ugly’ pit bull that no one wanted finally finds a home after long wait
|Every dog’s, that sleeps in shelters, biggest wish is to find a loving home. Unfortunately for some animals this takes longer to become reality. Most of the people who want to adopt dogs, they look a lot a pup’s appearance ignoring their beautiful souls.

That was the case for Wally, a Pit Bull who was brought at the Town of Islip Animal Shelter on Long Island , New York, when he was almost ten years old. Wally was a stray dog and had a difficult life.
He was experiencing some health issues including, blindness in one eye and skin infection reports The Dodo. All this gave the poor dog an appearance that worried the shelter staff, they were afraid he never would get adopted. The pooch proved to possess a tremendous personality and have become the favourite dog amongst the staff.

“He likes to slobber on you and can do anything for a few food,” veterinary tech Danielle Gorle told The Dodo. “He also likes to only hang around and not do anything.”
“Wally is a tremendous walrus/hippo/rhino dog that basically just needs a home that accepts him and to spend his time of life in!” Jen, a volunteer at the shelter , wrote on Facebook.
“He may be a little mush and a volunteer favorite.”

Visitors would always skip Wally because they didn’t like they way he looked. He needed to find a home as soon as possible as he doesn’t work well with the other shelter dogs.
The shelter’s stuff started noticing that not getting adopted began to affect his well being.
“He seems to be declining,” said Gorle. “Pup was happier when he first came in. Wally likes when he gets to travel out but he seems depressed in his kennel.”
But thanfully at the very end after Wally’s story went viral, the little pooch found his forever home. Wally seems now happier than ever and enjoys his new home and family. The shelter is very happy for this outcome!
