Watch: Missing dog returns home by ringing owners’ doorbell in the middle of the night

This young couple from Greensville, South Carolina, believed they had lost their dog forever, but they went from heartbreak to elation when the puppy came home all by himself in an incredible fashion.

Rajah, the 18-month-old dog, became frightened after one of the neighbors let off fireworks in the backyard. Mary Lynn and her partner were both in tears as they realized they would never see their pet puppy again. Heartbroken, the young couple searched the neighborhood for Rajah. They even requested for assistance on Facebook, but were turned down. Nonetheless, the daring pooch returned home hours later!

“She was in the backyard with our other dog when our neighbor started firing fireworks off, and I knew she’d be afraid,” Mary Lynn explained. “I got outside — and she was gone.”

Mary Lynn and her husband Ryan rushed out of bed at 3 a.m. after hearing someone ring the doorbell. They had no idea what was going on, only to discover that Rajah was the one who had interrupted their slumber. Fortunately, the dramatic incident was captured on video by the doorbell camera.

“I’m not sure how she knew how to do it; I’ve never showed her how,” the mother explained. “Ryan was awake, waiting for her to appear. He noticed her on the porch and dashed off to get her. She believed she was in big trouble for disappearing, but we were like, ‘We’re simply glad you’re back.’ We couldn’t stop laughing because it was so funny.”
