Left With A Wonky Face After Being Badly Abused, He Ached For Love & Acceptance

Pepo was rescued from Spain by Animal Angels Global after he was discovered as a stray asking for food. They took him in and transported him to the United Kingdom to find him a home, writes ilovemydogsomuch.

However, finding him a home proved to be far more difficult than they had anticipated.

With a severe underbite that causes her bottom teeth to protrude, a crooked nose, and out-turned feet, Pepo has been rejected several times because of his appearance.

He ended up residing in a temporary foster home for eight months as they searched for a forever home for Pepo on social media.

When the rescue began publishing from Pepo’s point of view, it began to touch people’s hearts and piqued the interest of a woman from Tiverton, England.
“I’ve been seeking for a new family for a long time now, and I’m wondering if nobody wants me because of my teeth,” read one message.

Jo Strachan fell in love with Pepo’s unusual, charming face after her sister tagged her in the photo. She filled out an application, and after carefully reviewing it, the rescue determined that Jo’s house was the ideal fit for Pepo!

Jo believes her dog runs like a ‘newborn lamb or foal’ because to carpal valgus on his front legs, which prevents him from correctly coordinating his feet.

Jo and her husband Glen were seeking for a new puppy to keep their dog Bob company after he lost his doggy sister a few months ago.

X-rays and scans found signs of fractures and shattered bones, leading veterinarians to assume Pepo, who is about two years old, was badly beaten as a puppy.

Despite his troubled background and odd appearance, Pepo is just like any other dog and likes playing and running around in his new backyard.

Jo reports that he is also very affectionate and appreciative for everything, and that he even cuddled up to her within hours of her adopting and bringing him home.

“He really is just one of these animals where you think, how can he have been so mistreated and still want human company and trust?” Jo told DailyMail. “It’s just amazing.”
