LITTER CREW CLEANING THE ROAD FINDS PINT-SIZED PUP SOMEONE DISCARDED AS TRASH

The Indiana Department of Transportation’s litter crews were cleaning an Indiana highway when they discovered an unexpected, but lovely find.

While clearing up rubbish, members came upon a little dog that was alone on the side of the road.

Before getting the nice dog to safety, they took a few photographs with him.

The photographs were uploaded on the Indiana Department of Transportation’s Facebook page, and one of the crew members stated he brought the puppy home and will have him scanned for a microchip as soon as possible.

It’s unclear if the puppy belonged to someone and was abandoned, or if it was born a stray. He would not have lasted much longer by the side of the road without food or water, so he is now safe and out of harm’s way.

If the puppy does not have a microchip and no owner can be traced, it will be put up for adoption or adopted by a member of the team!
