CANINE HOWLS WITH PLEASURE WHEN HE FINDS OUT HE’S BEEN ADOPTED AFTER 1250 DAYS IN SHELTER
Bowie was acquired as a pet from the shelter in 2014, but he was returned to his family a few years later. When Bowie was originally born in 2014, he was adopted from Gateway Pet Guardians, a shelter in East Saint Louis, Illinois. Unfortunately, he was returned to the shelter after a few years. Instead of living at the shelter, he was lucky enough to be placed with a family after just a few months there. When it came time to find a permanent abode, however, no one wanted him.
Days turned into months, and months turned into years, but Bowie had still not been adopted after 1,250 days. Bowie might also be a very sweet and well-behaved dog. Because his adoption fee had already been paid, the rescue decided to provide Bowie’s adopter with four free personal coaching sessions and an educated photograph.
The Gateway Pet Guardians were resolved to publish Bowie’s tale on social media in the hopes of attracting the attention of anybody who might be able to save him. Their ad was successful, and they received 40 applications from people who wanted to work with Bowie. They checked over each one carefully in order to find him the right place to live.
They met with a female they thought was the right fit, and he or she adopted Bowie the weekend before!
