ilovemydogsomuch says that Elias has spent the last six years behind bars after being saved from the verge of death.
Despite the fact that the shelter isn’t ideal, it is most likely the first place he has ever felt secure. When he initially came, he was overjoyed since it was the first time he got attention, food, and safety.
But nearly seven years in a kennel is much too long for a dog, especially when it’s more than half of their lives. With each passing year, Elias’ euphoria that he had when he first came began to diminish.
But why has Elias spent so much time in the shelter? Valia Orfanidou, a dog rescuer, feels that dogs are disregarded at shelters for a variety of reasons, including their appearance, age, health difficulties, and behavioral disorders, to mention a few. Orfanidou, on the other hand, feels it’s Elias’ appearance.
“Poor puppy, he’s so ugly, nobody wants him,” someone said on the shelter’s Facebook page after they put a photo of Elias there.
Elias, on the other hand, is far from unattractive. Unfortunately, his unremarkable appearance has made it difficult for him to attract the attention of potential adopters.
Elias has watched every dog in his neighborhood be adopted except for him over the years. Regardless, he is a kind, energetic dog that only wants to love and be loved.
