Injured Woman Rescued By Man Who Heard Her Dog’s Cry For Help

Barbara Dadswell loved hiking with her canine best friend near the Ashland Lake. On September 14th they decided to go again and enjoy the beautiful forest. Unfortunately something unexpected happened when after few hours into the hike, things took a tragic turn. Dadswell slipped on a log on their trail, broke her leg, and fell into a ravine. They were struggling for two days straight and were both very desperated.

Because her loyal pup never left her side, she had access to her dog’s safety backpack. She was able to create a splint for her leg by using the backpack, some shoestrings, and a few stable sticks she could find around her. With her splint in place, she spent the next day and a half inching her way to the main trail.

Suddenly they heard a hiker in distance. The dog immediately started crying out for help. Matthew Medina heard the dog and ran to their aid. He then called for help. An emergency response team came to Dadswell’s aid, and took Barbara to a local hospital.

Dadswell said that she was blessed that her loyal friend never left her alone and did everything he could to seek for help and save his precious owner!
