3,000 Stray Dogs Have A Place To Call Home Thanks To this Caring Family
|
In a country where stray animals were inundating the population, a family made the decision to focus their full concentration on caring for as many dogs as they could. A family-run shelter in Taiwan, Mrs. Hsu’s Sanctuary has more than 3,000 dogs of all breeds, sizes, and colors. Since the shelter’s opening five years ago, the number of stray animals has been continuously rising.

Then a generous individual intervened and provided a large structure that could house all the dogs. Taiwan was the first country to forbid the death of stray dogs in order to control their population. These shelters are now devoting greater attention to spaying and neutering campaigns as a consequence. The goal is to make the public more aware of the detrimental repercussions of breeding.

The shelter has numerous puppies that are either limbless or paralyzed on their back legs, so it hires dedicated builders who make economical handmade wheelchairs for dogs who need them. When a dog arrives with a serious enough injury, it is sent to the nearby veterinarian facility.

Angel Wang, a volunteer at the shelter, takes pleasure in spending time with each dog separately. She became her best friend as a result. She became interested in the shaggy gray dog who followed her around every day, and the months they spent together at her shelter turned into years. At a formal ceremony, Angel finally adopted Huei Huei!

Since there are far more dogs than there are workers at the shelter, people work around the clock to care for stray animals. They receive all of their financing from residents who support their work through donations. Families, staff members, and volunteers like taking care of these stray animals and seeing them happy. The 3,000 grins they witness each day validate every effort.
