Owners of Roxy abandoned her and left her in their yard when they went away. She was heartbroken and confused as to why her family had chosen not to take her with them. Every day, she waited for them to return, but they never did.
Roxy was in the yard when the new tenants moved in and discovered her. Unfortunately, because she was outside in the scorching sun without any shade, she suffered from badly bruised ears and skin rashes from the constant sun exposure.
Thankfully, Sidewalk Specials located her and took her to a veterinarian for treatment. She was otherwise healthy, although she had surgery to remove canker from her ears.
She then moved on to live with a foster family and enjoyed playing with her foster siblings there.
Sadly, she was left out of the adoption of her foster siblings. She started to question why no one seemed to be interested in her. Unfortunately, due to their age, older dogs are frequently passed over, but Roxy was able to find a loving family who was prepared to accept her. She was adopted by a wonderful family, and she now has a brand-new fraternal sibling to play with.
Even though Roxy is elderly, she still has a lot of life. Making a difference in an elderly dog’s life is never too late!
