When Carlos Carillo and his colleague discovered something surprising in a ditch off a country road, they thought it was just another ordinary trip. Driving stops as he notices a dog with taped legs and muzzle.
” We really did not know he was a canine at first,” Carrillo, an employee of Shoreline Pipes in Texas, told The Dodo. “We reversed and saw him.” The dog’s mouth was taped shut and he would undoubtedly be tied up with tubing. He was clearly left there to die …
Carillo and his companion rushed to free the dog. He seemed to be fine, said Carrillo. He was quite considerate and enjoyed the interest. He most likely only stayed there for a day or two. The plumbers loaded the dog into their car and drove him to a neighboring no-kill shelter called Peewee’s Pet Fostering.
Take a look at that face,” Carrillo said, referring to how happy the dog appeared to be to be alive. “He acknowledges that he was saved!” It came out that the dog had heartworms, for which they started treatment, but was still in good health. His tail won’t stop wagging, according to a Peewee’s Animal Fostering spokesman. He is very adorable.
The person who so callously abandoned the puppy to perish was never found, but at least the plumbers gave the dog a second chance at life. Right now, all he requires is a caring permanent home.
