The old blind dachshund was left at the shelter and she did not let go of the person who stroked her there for the first time

Muneka is a true veteran of the canine community; she is almost 18 years old and has seen very little. The owners made the decision to remove her to a shelter, and the poor creature was terrified being abandoned without a home, seeing nothing, or receiving love and care.

Then, when volunteer Helen Simons visited the elderly dog at the shelter and massaged her, Muneka leaped into her arms and cuddled up to her, seemingly indicating that she would not be freed and that Simons would take care of her.

Fortunately, the photographer, who was present, was able to record this on camera. The images quickly gained popularity after being posted on social media.

Her fate attracted attention from people all around the world, including an old-animal rescue group in California. After taking her to the doctor, they began seeking for a loving family. I’m happy to report that there aren’t any additional health issues besides visual loss. She had once been left alone, but now a great many people wanted to take care of her.

They selected the best choice out of all. Emmy Gunn from San Diego, where she was assigned, was there. She specifically came to see the dog and gauge how well the dog would get along with her before taking it home. Muneka is surrounded by love and care in her new family, and she enjoys taking bubble baths, going to the beach, and soaking up the sun.
