A dog who was loyal to the end placed his paws on the body of his owner as a final farewell.
Bill Schiller, 76, and his partner Anne Marie Sibthorp adopted Chief in 2014.
A touching moment was caught on tape as a man and his dog were seen together in a funeral home in Huntersville, North Carolina.
A 12-year-old girl took the picture, which depicts a dog resting over his owner’s coffin. The image was published on the James Funeral Home on Huntersville’s Facebook page.
On April 8, William, also known as Bill, passed away.
The director of the funeral home, Sam James, requested the young woman whether he might show the neighborhood the moving photo. James claims that the woman’s grandma can be seen waving goodbye to the woman’s boyfriend, Bill Schiller, in the photo together with the dog “Chief.”
In 2014, Bill adopted Chief as a rescue canine.
The area seemed to have been impacted by the image. This is a good friend of ours who left us much too soon but is now with Jesus in paradise! He was never a dog person, but Chief changed his heart and life, according to someone. “Thank you for capturing an occasion that Bill surely enjoyed! Thank you James Funeral Home for being so considerate of this family.
Anne Marie, Bill’s girlfriend, claims that hief “just gave Bill one small lick on his ear.”
James claimed that the two had a special bond, which is why Chief’s desire to see Schiller and say goodbye was granted. “I believe it helps them [dogs] connect the connections in the same way that it helps us,” James added.
