It is wonderful if someone fosters a dog. It provides homeless pets with a cozy place to be away from the shelter. As they search for a forever home, they receive a lot of love and socialization in their final home. Even though it is a wonderful experience, the parents find it very difficult to say goodbye to the family dog.
They were attached to the dog as they grew up, but they have one hope that the dog is going to a really good home. The same scenario occurred with one older household where a young boy became so attached to the puppy that he wrote a sweet note to the dog’s new family praising the dog and calling him the best dog.
The dog’s name is Maggie, and it is a pit bull mix that was rescued by North Shore Animal League America, a nonprofit organization located in Port Washington, New York. It was discovered stray and too young to be placed for adoption, so the organization decided to find a faster home for the puppy.
The dog soon found the perfect forever home in Louisiana with the Duncan family. The family adored their new furry friend, especially their six-year-old sibling, Raman. The family made it clear to their son, Román, that Maggie was not going to live with them forever and that the poppa will be sent to a new home because they knew the dog wasn’t going to be there forever.
Also during the holidays, the boy formed a close bond with Maggie. He learned how much the dog loved cuddling and playing fetch as he got to know the puppy. So when it was time to say goodbye, Maggie was returned to the North Shore Animal League. Maggie was going to have a new forever home, therefore Román wanted to be sure that she was a really unique dog. As she arrived in New York, NSALA learned that Román had sent some incredibly sweet handwritten letters and drawings to Maggie’s new family.
The letters demonstrate how Maggie is referred to as the “best dog you could ever ask for.” He even listed a number of characteristics about the dog, such as the fact that she is housebroken, adores kids, and is pooch trained. He even mentions that Maggie enjoys playing fetch and cuddly toys, but most of all, she loves to be loved. Rora also drew pictures of the deceased.
The North Shore Animal League’s managers were incredibly surprised and shocked when they discovered these notes. They even made it clear that they are requesting communication with Román’s new family in order to stay in touch. It’s wonderful to understand how much Román cares for Maggi.
