Man Spotted Sleeping Among Four Huge Bears Unharmed

What could possibly go wrong when you sleep with your best friends?

The lovely (or hair-raising?) picture was taken in Otisville, New York, at the Orphaned Wildlife Center. Jim Kowalczik, who co-founded the institution with his wife Susan Kowalczik, is the man seen. The two had been working as certified wildlife rehabilitators since 1996, but it wasn’t until they saved a hurt black bear in 2015 that the center’s objectives were formally established.

The couple has since helped numerous other orphaned bears. While Jim had little experience when they first started, Susan had worked with bears her entire life. But he has no issue gaining the hearts of their furry pals because of his compassion and sincerity. They all admire him, as you can see. A lot.

Every day, Jim takes care of the bears that were saved. As you can see, he plays with them, feeds them, bathes them, and occasionally they even take a quick nap together. Like a true family, they value and cherish one another. As if that weren’t enough, Jim occasionally joins the four permanent residents—two Kodiak bears and two Syrian brown bears—for belly rubs before bedtime to make them feel more at ease. Some of them even refuse to fall asleep unless they have their bellies scratched. Just give a look at this:
