It is difficult to not love horses after spending your entire life working with them, and they continue to do so even in your final moments. Patrick Saunders, a former stable worker, experienced just this.

He had a close bond with animals because he had worked with them nearly all of his life, and in his final moments he insisted on feeding a horse. No words can adequately describe the moment he grinned with happiness and satisfaction as he fed and touched a horse for the final time—an animal he loved wholeheartedly.

I will never forget his tremendous brightness as he patted a horse’s face for the last time after the animal was brought to his hospice, a hospital nurse said.

The medical staff arranged for him to visit and pet a horse, and he was able to realize his final request. Sadly, Patrick passed away after three days. Watch this priceless moment!
