The Medicine Hat horse is an impressive sight and is thought to possess extraordinary abilities. The markings on these lovely creatures are well known. Their ears and head are covered by a colorful patch on a white face. Native American cultures cherished its unique tint.

According to Native American oral histories, Medicine Hat horses were said to have a natural power to shield their riders from harm and death during battle. They were also reported to warn their riders against dae. In an effort to reap their good fortune, other tribes would attempt to teal these animals. They were therefore strictly guarded as a result.

Even more coveted were those who possessed one or two blue eyes!
